Rashad La Touche, RMT

Registered Massage Therapist

BAKin

Rashad La Touche is a practicing registered massage therapist (RMT) at Chiropractic Wellness & Rehabilitation, since 2016; he has strong roots in the community. Rashad attended Donald A. Wilson SS in Whitby. While playing football there he was able to earn a scholarship to Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON. There is where he first experienced the benefits of an RMT.

Rashad played 5 seasons for the Laurier Golden Hawks. During that time he suffered a variety of injuries, ranging from a strained right hip flexor to a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL). He received treatments from a variety of health care professionals, including physiotherapists (PT), athletic therapists (AT), and registered massage therapist (RMT).

His first experience with a RMT is one that sticks with him to this day. When he hurt his hip, his team AT suggested that he see a RMT for a deep tissue massage. He went into the hour treatment session, with preconceived ideas of what going to happen and came out with a new respect for the profession. The RMT’s knowledge of his injury, his ability to assess and give Rashad exercises to improve not only his injury but also overall function was something Rashad greatly appreciated.

After completing his fifth and final season with football, he graduated from Laurier with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Kinesiology. Next he enrolled at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH) in Toronto, to train to become a Registered Massage Therapist.

Being an RMT allows Rashad to work with athletes treating and managing injuries that they may experience both in season and during the offseason. It has allowed him to work with the working and aging population, helping to increase relaxation, and treat daily neck, shoulder, back and pain in extremities they may experience.

Rashad hopes to create the same positive experience with his clients that he received back in University. Ready to start his career, Rashad is excited to bring his past athletic experiences, his knowledge, enthusiasm, and love for helping people to our clinic.
